If you forget the password for a password-protected directory in cPanel, you can reset it using the Directory Privacy tool:

Log in to your cPanel account.

Navigate to Files > Directory Privacy.

Browse to the protected directory and click Edit.

You will see a list of authorized users for that directory.

You can either:

Update the password for an existing user, or
-
Create a new user with a new password.
-
Once updated, use the new credentials to regain access to the protected area.
